French Margarita
3.5 shots out of 5
Happy Friday everyone!! It's been "yet another" looong week! One more week of school and then the boys will be home with me and the girls for the summer. This school year has gone by quite quickly, I must say.
I gave tonight's cocktail 3.5 shots out of 5. I was more impressed with the photo on Pinterest then I was with the cocktail itself. I got this recipe from a pin that led me to The Cooking Channel TV site. The ingredients sounded like a good twist to the common Margarita, and they are for the most part. I must say.......there's a lot of tequila in this margarita. I'm assuming that the Chambord in this cocktail makes it "French" just like in my French Martini. I think if I was to make this cocktail again, I would just put in 1 shot of tequila, and add the Chambord to the shaker with the rest of the ingredients.
Here is the recipe for a French Margarita:
- 2 shots of tequila (yikes!)
- 1 shot Grand Marnier
- 1/2 shot lime juice
- 1/2 shot orange juice
- 1/2 shot sweet & sour mix
- 1 shot Chambord
In a shaker, add ice and all ingredients except for the Chambord. Shake it up good and strain it into a margarita glass filled with crushed ice. Add your Chambord.
Here is a photo of "my" end result ("my" meaning I stirred it all together):

Here's to a margarita with a twist. Email me if you have any unique margarita recipes for me to try.
Cheers!
