Gooey Butter Cake Martini
4 shots out of 5
First off let me say that I can not believe that I missed the fact that last night was my half way mark through my Year of Cocktails!! Thank You to all of you that have been with me from the beginning and to those of you who have found me along the way. I am having a blast and thoroughly enjoying these cocktails......well most of that at least.
I gave tonight's cocktail 4 shots out of 5. Tonight's cocktail was sent to me from Scott. Over at the Ritz-Carlton in St. Louis they have created a martini that is made after St. Louis's famous Gooey Butter Cake. Every Friday night at the Ritz they tell the history of the legendary cake and pass out free samples of their martini. Scott thought it would be fun for me to make it here on my year long adventure, and boy was he right! Thank You Scott and the Ritz-Carlton for this amazing cocktail recipe! In the version they make at the Ritz, they use Three Olives Cake Vodka (which I couldn't find, so I used Pinnacle), otherwise I had the rest of the ingredients except for the Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur which I just purchased at my local BevMo!
Having never tried a Gooey Butter Cake, I must say I like the cocktail version and I think I'm going to try making the cake one day soon. If you are interested, here is a link to a blog that Scott sent me with a recipe and a little history of the St. Louis cake.
Here is the recipe for a Gooey Butter Cake Martini:
- 1 oz Cake flavored vodka
- 1 oz Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur
- 1/2 oz Frangelico
- 1/2 oz Amaretto
- 1/2 oz Butterscotch Schnapps
In a shaker add ice and all of the ingredients above. Shake and strain your cocktail into a powder sugar rimmed martini glass.

Thank You Scott for the recipe for tonight's cocktail!
Cheers!!
