Day 290

Polar Bear
3.5 shots out of 5

Late this morning is was lightly raining until it was time to get out of the car for our youngest's sons green belt testing.....then it started pouring.  Luckily the rain stopped just when it was time to get our Christmas tree which was nice.  We now have our tree up (lights and decorations to be put on tomorrow since the tree is wet) and a good portion of our garage cleaned out!  What a productive day!

I gave tonight's cocktail 3.5 shots out of 5.  It's a small simple shooter to make and not too bad to drink down.  I still have to prepare myself when I know that peppermint schnapps is one of the main ingredients on one of my cocktails.  I'm expecting it to be horrible like my Liquid Valium each and every time it's one of the main ingredients.....luckily, I haven't had one since that was as bad as that one!  I can definitely taste the peppermint flavor, but it's drastically muffled by the creme de cacao, which is a very nice surprise.  All in all, a nice holiday shooter to take with friends, but not one I'd brag about....at all.  I found this recipe here.

Here is the recipe for a Polar Bear:

  • 1/2 oz peppermint schnapps
  • 1/2 oz white creme de cacao
In a shaker, add ice and all of the ingredients above.  Strain into a shot glass.

Here's to a rainy evening and a warm house to enjoy it in.

Cheers!!
