The Frenchy
4 shots out of 5
It's Thursday! I can just about smell the weekend! I'm looking forward to this weekend......which will probably make Friday go pretty darn slow. I found a couple cocktails on Pinterest lately that I've been wanting to try out, so tonight is one of those Pinterest (hope it's as good as it looks) nights.
I gave tonight's cocktail 4 shots out of 5 and I have to say the more I get used to the taste of the pear flavored vodka......the more I want to make it a 4.5. I'll stick with a 4 though. Let me just start off by saying even though I put nearly 3 times more juice in this cocktail then pear vodka, I can absolutely taste the pear flavor in here. At first the pear flavor was a bit much, which I believe is because I made it how I was told to........pour, pour and pour, no stirring involved. I took a few sips and stirred, stirred, stirred..........aahhhhhh, much better. I found tonight's cocktail recipe here and if you check out their photo.......yea it looks nothing like mine. This drives me crazy, it's just like my Barbie Cocktail post I did back in February. That cool pink looking cocktail was all the rave on Pinterest..........so I made it.........yea it was orange. Tonight's cocktail follows the same lines in my book, one picture makes it look light, refreshing and see-through......mine on the other hand makes it look the opposite. None the less, this is a good cocktail. I am enjoying it and will be finishing the entire thing tonight.
Here is the recipe for The Frenchy:
- 1 1/2 oz pear vodka
- 3 oz pineapple juice
- 1 oz cranberry juice
In a tall cocktail glass filled with crushed ice, add all of the ingredients above and STIR it up good.

My whole thought on these photos I'm taking is to keep it real. I want you to see exactly what you will be making at home. Sure all of our monitors are most likely calibrated differently so what looks bright white to me, may look yellowish to you or vise versa, but for the most part you'll know exactly what it is your cocktail should (more or less, lol) look like. My good friend Stephanie wrote an article about it on her Totally Together blog, you can check it out here. You be the judge......is creating a pretty photo worth more then the actual photo itself?
Cheers!!
