Day 155

Key Lime Daiquiri
4.5 shots out of 5

Took the kids to out County Museum today.  One of my boys had gone on a field trip and for doing so they gave him a voucher for 2 adults and 3 kids to return for free.......so why not!  It was a pretty cool museum I must say!  I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did.  All four of my kids (13, 7, 3 & 1) all enjoyed it as well.

I gave tonight's cocktail 4.5 shots out of 5.  I got this cocktail through a pin on Pinterest which landed me to a blog called Hungry Couple.  They have a page with the daiquiris they've made so far (looks pretty good!!)  First off I love this lime green color of the daiquiri!  I can definitely taste the midori and pineapple juice (which go well together!)  I took the recipe on the blog and halved it (even the ice cubes, which I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't have done) and mine didn't turn out as thick as the one on the Hungry Couples blog, but it's still super yummy (that's why I took off the word frozen from the title for my cocktail)!  I am sucking this cocktail down pretty quickly and am about to go pour the last few sips that are in the blender in my glass as well!

Here is the recipe for a Key Lime Daiquiri:

  • 2 oz light rum
  • 2 oz midori
  • 1 oz pineapple juice
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
In a blender add ice and all of the ingredients above.  Blend everything together until all of the ice is gone.  Pour and enjoy!

Here's to a brand new daiquiri and the great people at Hungry Couple for the recipe!!

Cheers!!
