Day 55

Purple Russian
3 shots out of 5

Chambord makes a return!  I think it's like a top shelf Cranberry Juice.  OK, that's not exactly what it is, obviously, but in this cocktail where it more or less resembles a vodka cran, it kinda makes me think of it as that.  I must say though, if this cocktail only had a 1/2 shot of cranberry juice, I would NOT be able to drink it.  The Chambord calms the vodka taste in this one for sure.

I gave this cocktail 3 shots out of 5 and quite honestly I'm VERY surprised that I did!  I didn't think the Chambord would be flavorful enough to cut the vodka, but I tip my hat to it, because it did a great job of it.  This Purple Russian, isn't half bad!  Side note........did you notice that my bottle of Sky Vodka is empty in the photo below?  So is my Smirnoff........YIKES!!

Here is the recipe for a Purple Russian:

  • 1 1/2 shots vodka
  • 1/2 shot Chambord
In a short glass, fill it with ice and pour in your vodka and Chambord.  Stir it up good and enjoy!

A big cheers to the makers of Chambord!  I'm very impressed with this little bottle that's full of flavor!
